Strengthening Dominican Republic and El Salvador ties

El Salvador.- The Minister of the Presidency, Joel Santos Echavarría, represented the Dominican Government at the inauguration of Nayib Bukele, who began his second term as President of El Salvador.
Following the ceremony, Santos Echavarría expressed continued support for Bukele’s administration and a commitment to enhancing commercial and diplomatic relations between the Dominican Republic and El Salvador.
“We will continue to strengthen our friendship with this important Central American country and promote further cooperation between our nations,” stated Santos Echavarría.
In his address to President Bukele, Santos Echavarría reiterated the Dominican Republic’s goodwill and commitment to fostering friendly, commercial, and cooperative ties, in line with the international diplomatic policies of President Luis Abinader’s administration.
During his visit, Santos Echavarría, accompanied by his wife, Carmen Ligia Barceló, the elected representative for Hato Mayor, engaged in a series of bilateral meetings. Notably, he met with the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, to discuss enhancing mutual cooperation and friendship.
Additionally, Santos Echavarría held discussions with Costa Rican President Rodrigo Chaves Robles, U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas, Salvadoran Foreign Minister Alexandra Hill Tinoco, Paraguayan Foreign Minister Rubén Ramírez Lezcano, and Salvadoran Ambassador to Washington Milena Mayorga, among others.
The itinerary included presenting credentials to Salvadoran Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Adriana Mira at the Dr. David J. Guzmán National Museum of Anthropology (MUNA). Santos Echavarría was accompanied by his wife, Carmen Ligia Barceló, Dominican Ambassador to El Salvador Julio César George Encarnación, and Ministry of the Presidency Director of Cabinet Carmen Minaya.
“It was a valuable visit, allowing us to share insights, experiences, and best practices in government administration, highlighting the importance of international collaboration in addressing shared challenges,” said Santos Echavarría.
