US ATF delegation to help local authorities on gun controls
Santo Domingo.- A delegation from the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms(ATF) began a series of meetings with the Dominican authorities to exchange views and learn from the experiences on the control and trafficking of weapons.
The Interior and Police Ministry, as policymaker to counter weapons smuggling, with the ATF’s assistance, will bolster current controls and create new ones jointly with the Defense Ministry, the National Police, the Customs Agency and the Justice Ministry.
The delegation, which came to the country invited by the of Interior and Police Ministry, held its first meeting at Ministry offices, where it shared experiences with the machines to engrave, register and control firearms.
The ATF praised the country effort to engrave guns and the operation of the Ballistic Print and Biometrics Lab.
The delegation’s members are Cristopher Reed, Eric Peña, Jean Marc Behar, Eric Peña, John Jacobson, William Kullman, Kivy L. Pridgen Jr, Neil Troppman and Ollie Mier.
