Immigration: 25,517 foreigners return voluntarily

Santo Domingo.- The Immigration Agency on Tuesday said 25,517people have returned voluntarily to their country since the process to apply forthe government program to legalize foreigners concluded June 18.

Immigration said of that number, 1,100 have returned totheir country taking advantage of the buses to transport them to the border andtrucks to transport their belongings, both free of charge.

In a statement, Immigration noted that the foreigners whoreturn voluntary can eventually return to the country without impediment, aslong as they have the required documents and a visa.

Immigration added that its actions show the government’s willingnessto not affect any illegal alien interested in leaving the country and thenregularize their status.
