Anti-money Laundering seizes RD$2.5 B during the last few years
Santo Domingo.- The Justice Ministry’s Anti-money laundering unit has seized real estate, cash, watches, jewellery and other valuable properties worth around RD$2.5 billion during the last few years.
Unit director German Miranda said his agency works tirelessly to fight organized crime, especially against those who acquire wealth illegally by laundering money from narcotics trafficking.
The official spoke at the Hilton Hotel, where he attended the opening of the 5th annual Anti-money Laundering Congress, with the participation of world experts, hosted by the bank BankAmerica.
