Update: Santo Domingo and the National District are now under yellow alert.
Santo Domingo – The Emergency Operations Center (COE) removed Santo Domingo and the National District from red alert and placed them and ten other provinces on yellow alert. In addition, 13 provinces remain on green alert, as the incursion of an air mass with lower humidity content and Saharan dust particles will influence weather conditions.
Likewise, some local, weak, and passing rains, moderate at times, are expected as a result of the southeast wind’s drag.
The provinces on yellow alert are Santo Domingo, Distrito Nacional, Hato Mayor, El Seibo, Perevia, San Cristobal, Pedernales, Barahona, La Altagracia, San Pedro de Macoris, La Romana, and Monte Plata.

In this regard, people are advised to refrain from crossing rivers, streams, and creeks with high water volumes in the provinces under alert.
