Five men arrested in Bavaro gas station robbery
Bávaro – Members of the National Police assigned to the Central Investigation Directorate (DICRIM) arrested five men accused of armed robbery of a gas station located in Bávaro, La Altagracia province.
Those arrested are Bairon González (a) El Negro, 20; Domingo Fortuna (a) Yeuris, 33; Julio Henríquez Novas (a) El Flaco, 34; Ariel García Castro (a) Papotin, of the same age; and Franklin Novas Méndez (a) Yúnior, who admitted to having committed the aforementioned robbery.
According to the police report, the criminals stole 227,580 pesos in cash and 43 dollars, together with two alleged criminals identified as “Miguelito” and “Chipito” (fugitives), who are being actively sought.
The detainees will be handed over to the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the corresponding legal proceedings.
Glad they were caught. The names and ages of the perps are published. But of course, not to upset the delicate sensibilities of the tourist zone so as not to upset visitors, the location and name of the gas station is omitted.
