Sectors that will not have electricity due to maintenance in Haina substation

Haina—Empresa de Transmisión de Electricidad Dominicana (ETED) requested that Edesur Dominicana authorize maintenance work in the Granitos Bajos de Haina substation. To complete the job, electricity service to 16 sectors of that distinction will be interrupted.

ETED argues that this work will seek to prevent a constant output of the plant is produced due to lack of maintenance, affecting the users of the service.

The sectors that will have interruptions as a result of the work are Bajos de Haina, El Carril, Barcequillo, Piedra Blanca, Cabón, Nigua, Yogo Yogo, Carretera Nigua- San Cristóbal, Cambelen, Gringo, El Naranjal, Colinas del Caribe, Villa Penca, Los Lanzadores, San José and Zona Industrial de Haina.

Edesur Dominicana notes that the system continuously maintains its electricity networks and substations with the goal of increasing service efficiency and avoiding interruptions due to breakdowns.

He specified that the interruptions in some sectors and communities within its spectrum are due to network maintenance not being carried out for a long time.

He indicated that the production of electric energy is currently at total capacity, meaning there is no deficit in the supply.

This service interruption is an indicator of a loss of focus of adding additional distribution lines to the national grid. The lack of sufficient lines denies energy from other grid plants being delivered to end users of the down plant.

Most won’t notice any difference. They are so accustomed to interrupted supply.
