Neither the Cesfront, the Army or the Police can put their hands on Haitians, according to mayor

Dajabón – The mayor of Dajabón denounces wave of robberies committed by Haitian minors and no one does anything.

The municipal mayor Santiago Riveron warned about several criminal acts that are being led by Haitian minors without being arrested by the authorities.

Despite the criminal acts committed by Haitian minors, Riveron, said that neither the military nor the police can lay hands on the homeless children.

“They are girls and boys who are stealing from homes and businesses at night but no one can put their hands on them, the city council cannot put their hands on them, CESFRONT, the Army or the police cannot put their hands on them,” Riveron said.

Santiago Riverón called on the competent authorities to correct the situation before a tragedy occurs.

This sounds about right. And they won’t do anything unless the people rise up against the Dominican government.

Why can’t they detain children commiting crimes? Not sure I understand the reason why they can’t be apprehended.
