Watch out for detours on Las Americas, Duarte highways

Santo Domingo.- The PublicWorks Ministry on Monday announced several traffic detours along the Duarte andLas Americas highways near Boca Chica starting 8am Tuesday, to expedite the constructionof the artery´s elevated span.

Among the detoursfigure the exit to Caucedo port, in the East-West and Boca Chica´s easternmostcrossing

It said the detours aimto expedite rush hour traffic, which has become gridlocked several times inthose intersections.

Duarte Highway

Public Works saidtraffic will also be shuttered at specific times from 5am Tuesday until 9pm Wednesdayon the Duarte Highway at Piedra Blanca, to install the beams for the overpassat the Juan Adrian-Rancho Arriba exit.

It also announced that theintersection 27 de Febrero Av. corner Caonabo St. in the capital was closed asof 10pm Wednesday until further notice, to expedite completion of the underpasson the 27 with Privada.
