Over 400 agro producers to benefit from USDA program

Santo Domingo.- More than 400 producers and close to 10,000 people linked to the export sector were favored with the program “Strengthening the Marketing Capabilities of Agricultural Enterprises of the Dominican Republic,” conducted since last year by the Dominican Exporters Association (ADOEXPO) and the US Department of Agriculture (USDA).

ADOEXPO president, Luis Concepción, speaking at the closing ceremony of this project, stressed that it strengthened the technical skills in the production, marketing and export of the agricultural line destined for the United States, a market of 325 million consumers , one of the largest and most competitive in the world, the main market among the 150 countries where the local offer comes from.

The business leader thanked the technical assistance and funds provided by the USDA and the cooperation of the Economy Ministry), and explained that the program imparted training on the FSMA Law, the requirements for obtaining export licenses , packaging for agricultural products, among other topics, which included sizes, training activities and the distribution of printed, audiovisual and other teaching tools.

During the event, held at the Embajador Hotel, the executive vice-president of ADOEXPO, Odile Miniño Bogaert, presented the guide “Technical Requirements for the Export of Agricultural Products to the United States Market,” stating that it was prepared as a result of this program and contains all the technical information that exporters and agricultural producers must know in order to successfully export and market national agricultural products to the United States market.

“The 72-page guide is a useful tool that guides companies and that can be obtained free of charge in digital format on its website www.adoexpo.org.do, highlighting that it is a contribution from ADOEXPO to the country within the Year of Promotion of Exports,” said the executive vice president of ADOEXPO.
