Insurance market grew 19.03% in 1Q; net premiums US$274.0M

Santo Domingo..- Insurance superintendent Euclides Gutiérrez Félix on Monday said the Dominican insurance market grew 19.03 percent in the first quarter, with net premiums of RD$13.7 billion (US$274.0 million), a RD$2.2 billion jump compared to the same quarter last year.

He said just in March, net premiums rose by 13.73 percent, with an RD$5.06 billion, an absolute increase of RD$611.3 million.

The official provided the information during a cocktail in a Colonial Zone hotel for the insurance sector, to mark National and International Insurance Day.
