New US envoy glad to be in ‘beautiful’ Dominican Republic

Santo Domingo.- New US ambassador Robin Bernstein is pleased to be where she labeled a “beautiful “Dominican Republic and hopes to work closely with president Danilo Medina and Foreign minister Miguel Vargas

Upon his arrival at Las Americas Airport, Bernstein reiterated that his priorities are to improve education and spur bilateral trade between both countries.

The diplomat was accompanied by her husband Richard Bernstein and their daughter Julia.

She said Washington and Santo Domingo share a deep and historical connection and, as such, expects to work closely with the Dominican government and people to strengthen bilateral relations and together advance on mutual goals.
