Santo Domingo.- Education minister, Andrés Navarro, and National Disability Council (Conadis), president Magino Corporán, on Wed. signed a agreement to develop programs and projects to guarantee training and employment opportunities for people with disabilities.

Navarro said that in addition to strengthening the policy of inclusive education, once people with disabilities go to school, they need to have the opportunity to enter the labor market under equal conditions, that is, they have the right to be productive entities.

“If the Ministry of Education should be the promoter of an inclusive education, it should also be a promoter of labor inclusion,” the official said.

For his part, Corporán said the agreement ratifies the initiatives put in place and “shows that inclusive education is progressing securely in the Dominican Republic.”
