Official lists energy and mine projects; urges a look to China

Mining concessions

Santo Domingo.- The Energy and Mines Ministry manages 44 projects -some in execution and others in design- and sophisticated technology to genetically manipulate food (GMO), which delays the maturity of fruits, fight pests and other advantages to raise yield.

Nuclear Energy deputy minister Susana Gautreaux stressed that research is being carried out to eliminate the pests which attack coffee and tobacco plantations, and “can jeopardize any economy.”

Look to China

Interviewed by El Nuevo Diario A.M.TV, the official affirmed that China should be “our first vision,” because “the United States doesn’t have much more to give us now and neglected us once.”
