Dominican drug trafficking suspect is handed over to US agents

Santo Domingo.- Drug Control (DNCD) agents and Prosecutor’s Office officials on Sun. handed over to federal agents a Dominican accused of drug trafficking .

José Rafael Hidalgo Herrera (Pete) 44, was extradited to face charges at Pennsylvania Central District Court, of conspiracy to distribute and possess with the intention of distributing five kilos of cocaine.

The Dominican citizen, escorted by federal agents, was taken to Pennsylvania on a commercial flight from Las Americas International Airport.

In a statement the DNCD said that Hidalgo was arrested last January in a sector of the National District, “through a search operation by DNCD officers and members of the Public Prosecutor’s Office.”
