OAS to audit Electoral Board voter list, informatics

Washington.- The Organization of American States (OAS) will audit the Central Electoral Board’s (JCE) voter register and informatics center, an agreement announced Tuesday.

OAS Secretary General Jose Miguel Insulza promised the audit immediately and in his view the results will bring tranquility to the Dominican nation.

He said Uruguay ex president Tavares Vázquez will head the OAS delegation of observers for the May 20 elections. He said the commission will be here before, during and after the elections.

JCE president Roberto Rosario is visiting several United States cities, to contact representatives of Dominican political parties and of the community abroad.
