Motorists with unpaid traffic fines will not be able to renew tag

Santo Domingo.- Internal Taxes (DGII) on Mon. said it expects to raise more than RD$2.25 billion with the renewal of the vehicle license sticker (tag) 2019-2020, which starts today.

It said however that motorists who figure with unpaid traffic fines will not be able to renew their tag.

According to the DGII, 1,374,321 vehicles must acquire the label without a late fee, or 27,469 more than last year. “This represents a 2.04% growth, compared to 1,346,852 in 2018.”

Internal Taxes added that vehicles until 2014 will pay RD$1,500 to renew the sticker and vehicles from 2015 onward will pay RD$3,000.
