Santo Domingo.- The British Embassy in Santo Domingo on Mon. told the Dominican Republic Hotels and Tourism Association (Asonahores) that its govt. will be responsible for repatriating the tourists left stranded by the bankruptcy of tour operator Thomas Cook.
In a statement Asonahores said it’s analyzing the local impact of this “unfortunate fact.”
It said however that it doesn’t have the number of people affected with the situation thus far.
Asonahores added that the British Embassy said that Great Britain’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) is sending a letter to all the hotels where its citizens are staying to explain how it will proceed to ensure that citizens who are vacationing in Dominican lodgings can leave the country.
