Antinarcotics chief says Senator given “poison” on dead agent

Santo Domingo.- Antinarcotics Agency (DNCD) director Rolando Rosado on Friday said senator Wilton Guerrero has been given "extremely harsh poison" to drink.

The official responded to a reporter who asked about Guerrero’s affirmation against DNCD undercover agent Antony Eduardo Leyba Perez who died in a plane crash last week near the central mountain city Constanza.

"We are not hypersensitive, but he is dead, we’re talking about that he left nine children fatherless, a grieving mother and a widow," he said about the Peravia Senator’s allegation.

Visibly upset, Rosado said property records were reviewed and no assets attributed to Leyba were found, adding that if he would’ve had a fortune, it would’ve meant that he even more valor as a person.

"Now they want to kill him morally…what’s happening in this country?"
