In one week 5 femicides by spouses

Santo Domingo.- In one week five women have lost their lives in the country at the hands of their respective spouses, in the month that marks the International Day of no Violence Against Women.

The first to lose her life, last Monday, was Juana Domínguez Salas (Nona), who died at the hands of her ex-partner, who had previously tried to assassinate her and was released after an agreement with the San Pedro de Macorís Prosecutor’s Office.

Meanwhile, in the last four days the Dominican Republic has woken to a femicide every day.

The list: Juana Domínguez Salas, Fátima Guzmán, Leónidas Mueses José, Gladis Elizabeth Alvarado and Luisa María Báez Castillo.
