Ruling party presidential candidate cops ‘tech glitch’ plea to withhold report

Santo Domingo.- Dominican ruling party (PLD) presidential candidate Gonzalo Castillo, on Tue. said he cannot render an income and expense report on his successful primary campaign “due to technical difficulties with the format provided.”

He said that the information in detail will be “forwarded later” to the Central Electoral Board (JCE).

“Meanwhile, the details of the collections and the supports of the expenses will be available in our offices so that the JCE can review them when it considers it convenient.”

Local media report that Castillo had spent at least RD$414 million in his primary campaign thus far.
