Deputy Justice Minister: Cibao drug cartel leader plots my murder

Santo Domingo.- Deputy Justice minister Gisela Cueto on Monday said she fears for her life from an alleged assassination plot hatched by suspected Cibao drug cartel leader Miguel Ivan Tineo, wanted in the United States on various charges.

Cueto, who’s also in charge of the Justice Ministries’ Extraditions Dept., affirmed that to materialize the allegt contract killing Tineo hired four men impersonating Police agents

The official’s revelation comes after Tineo’s lawyers challenged Cueto and Supreme Court justices Frank Soto, Esther Agelán, Alejandro Moscoso and Hirohito Juan Reyes on alleged partiality.

Cueto called Tineo’s allegation against the justices “superficial” and a ploy to prevent extradition to the U.S.
