Antinarcotics arrests two agents trying to sell cocaine in Higuey

Santo Domingo. – Two Antinarcotics (DNCD) agents, one of them a Dominican Air Force (FAD) corporal, were arrested along with three other suspects with six packets of cocaine, which they allegedly sougth to sell to an unidentified buyer in Higuey (east).

DNCD spokesman Roberto Lebron said the agents Jose Ernesto Rosario and Rafael Ydelfonso Paniagua, and the civilians Francisco Antonio Cruz, Edwin Polanco and Domingo Silverio Leon, will be arraigned Thursday.

In a statement, Lebron said the suspects were arrested in front of a cafeteria on Gaston F. Deligne, street by agents of the East Region Division, based in La Romana, on a tip by a DNCD informant.

He added that the six men went to Higuey in a Toyota SUV, in which in addition to the drug, the agents seized three pistols, a bulletproof vest and a black cap with DNCD logos, between items belongings.
