Ruling party says opposition candidate fears debate “like the Devil fears the cross”

Santo Domingo.- Ruling PLD party presidential candidate Danilo Medina is the one who had confirmed his participation in the electoral debate that plans the business leaders grouped in ANJE, but the opposition’s PRD contender Hipólito Mejía who “fears it like the Devil fears the cross.”

Medina campaign director Francisco Javier Garcia made the affirmation Thursday, noting that it’s the opposition candidate who looks to sidestep the challenge. “Who has confirmed his willingness to participate in the debate is Medina, who hasn’t confirmed and runs from it like the Devil runs from the cross is Hipólito Mejía.”

He reiterated that the PRD candidate avoids the debate before the media in the electoral campaign. “Hipólito has been running from the debate which the Young Business Leaders Association has been organizing.”
