Glitch on high seas halts Dominican-Puerto Rican ferry for hours

Santo Domingo.- More than 80 passengers and crew aboard the ship America Cruise Ferries were stranded in the middle of the Mona Passage for several hours on mechanical problems, on its route from Puerto Rico to Dominican Republic.

Quoted by elcaribe.com.do, Ferry company spokesman Ercilio Veloz said executives in Puerto Rico called to inform that the problem had been solved around 9pm, when the ship resumed its course towards the Dominican mainland.

He didn’t province further details on what forced the halt of the Ferry, which plies the Santo Domingo-San Juan route.
