Civic group has new director

SantoDomingo.- Civic watchdog group Participación Ciudadana (Citizen Participation) hasappointed Rosalía Sosa Pérez as its new executive director.

SosaPérez replaces Javier Cabreja, who recently resigned his post. Prior to herappointment, PC held a public recruitment process in which ten candidates tookpart, and a specially designated commission selected a shortlist that waspresented to the National Council.

SosaPérez joined PC as a member in 2007 and has belonged to the national andcoordinating councils, and the justice and institutional strengtheningcommittees.

Herduties will include planning, coordinating and supervising PC’s operational andadministrative activities, as well as serving as liaison between the organization’smanagement bodies, and implementing decrees emitted by the general assembly, thenational council and the coordinating committee.

SosaPérez is a lawyer and economist, with a Masters degree in National EconomicPlanning, specializing in Penal Rights and a Doctorate in Law.
