Dominican agents score another big drug bust in 24 hours

Santo Domingo.- The National Drug Control Agency (DNCD) on Thursday seized more than 100 packages with 120 kilos of cocaine headed to Grand Inagua, Bahamas.

The bust comes just hours after the DNCD seized more than 1,500 kilos near the southeastern island of Saona, which came aboard at least two speedboats which fled presumably back to South America.

DNCD spokesman Roberto Lebron said three arrests were made including the American Robert Bruce Adams, the Dominicans Juan Carlos Lopez and Tirso Bisono, all under interrogation.

He said the detainees departed from Boca Chica on the south coast and intercepted by the DNCD at Los Pescadores beach, Las Terrenas, Samaná province, aboard the U.S. registry boat UKY48425K86.

Lebron said the operation was carried out jointly with the Navy and the Samana Office of the DA.
