Journalist doubts lawmakers can probe senator’s embezzlement case

Santo Domingo.- Investigative journalist Nuria Piera on Tuesday said has doubts about the conclusions which the bicameral Commission that probes the alleged embezzlement by San Juan senator Félix Bautista.

During her meeting in Congress, Piera handed four DVDs containing several "Nuria" TV program, to the members of the Commission chaired by senator Prim Pujals.

She said the DVDs contain everything she has to say and knows about Bautista’s case.

The also head of NCDN Channel 37 said she had carried out her duty as a citizen. "I expect the Commission complies with its duty at the height which the case requires.”

Bautista allegedly donated funds for Alejandro Toledo’s presidential campaign in Peru and his vast personal wealth is the source of questions in Dominican Republic.
