Authorities extradite man wanted in N.Y. South District Court

Santo Domingo.- The authorities extradited a Dominican wanted in the U.S. to stand trial in New York South District Court, charged with smuggling an unspecified amount of heroin and cocaine for distribution in that city.

The extraditable Silvio Rafael Castro Morales, 32, had been held in a cell of the National Drugs Control Agency headquarters after his arrest on December 12, 2012.

Castro’s arrest came on a warrant issued by the Supreme Court’s Criminal Chamber on July 13, 2012.
