Carriers cancel Dominican flights as snowstorm whips eastern U.S.

SD. Seven flights were cancelled in the Las Americas International Airport (AILA) as the third blast of snow in as many weeks affects eastern United States.

Jet Blue cancelled three flights to New York; American Airlines with one to New York, one to Boston and another to Miami, while Delta Airlines canceled one to Atlanta.

Hundreds of passengers were left stranded in the terminal, while others had to change flight plans.

The flights continue normal schedules to Europe, Central and South America.

The cancellations prompted by the bad weather in the U.S. have led to fewer passengers in the AILA, while others have postponed their flights to later dates.
