El Pais: Dominican man is the hero in Cleveland ordeal

Santo Domingo.-Dominican Republic citizen Angel Cordero, who lives across the street fromwhere Amanda Berry, Gina de Jesus and Michelle Knight were found alive afterbeing kidnapped around 10 years ago, says he’s the real hero of the rescue and notCharles Ramsey.

Newspaper ElPais quoted Cordero as saying that he was the first to help Berry escape bybreaking down the door of the house where the three women had been locked up.

"Theglory which Ramsey now enjoys dodged Cordero on the fact that he couldn’t saywhat took place to the U.S. media," El Pais says in it’s story: "Thereal hero is me."
