Dominican Republic will host banana and coffee producers from Latin America in April

Banana and coffee producers from Latin America, as well as from the Caribbean and Africa, will meet from April 17 to 22 in Punta Cana, in the eastern Dominican Republic, the organization of the activity reported on Wednesday. Organized by the Latin American and Caribbean Coordinator of Small Producers and Fair Trade Workers (CLAC), the event will bring together producers, buyers, importers, non-governmental organizations, international experts, and the most relevant actors in the value chain of fair trade in two forums. these products and the Fair Trade industry.

In the banana forum, they will talk about biodiversity in the production of the product, sustainable production systems and environmental impact, market situation, and cluster panorama.

While in regards to cocoa, the impact of sustainable production standards, the challenges in the industry, and global consumption trends will be discussed, according to a statement from CLAC.
