Danilo says he has prostate cancer

Last night, former President of the Republic, Danilo Medina, announced that he has been diagnosed with prostate cancer while receiving treatment in the United States. Medina, who is currently president of the opposition Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), had been undergoing different tests since January to determine his diagnosis. After unsuccessful treatment in the country, he made two trips to the United States for a biopsy and an extension study, which will help to determine the most appropriate type of treatment.

Medina assured the public that he and his family are feeling serene and hopeful, as the doctors have told them that the cancer is curable with God’s help. However, he will have to travel back to the United States for further studies and treatment in the near future.

Medina expressed his gratitude towards those who have expressed concern for his health and thanked them for their support during this time.
