Police officers will begin charging minimum wage increase this month

In March, the National Police will receive the salary increase announced by President Luis Abinader during his accountability on February 27, according to the Minister of the Interior and Police, Jesús Chu-Vásquez Martínez. The increase will raise the salary of a private in the institution from 10,000 pesos to 24,555 pesos, with an additional increase in October to the equivalent of 500 dollars. Additionally, the ministry plans to provide 1,400 courses to improve the skills of police officers nationwide.

To address the criminal actions in the municipality of San Cristóbal, the Ministry of the Interior and Police has implemented the “My Safe Country” plan. Vásquez Martínez announced that 175 new police officers will be deployed to the municipality, along with 12 vans, 25 engines, and 2 prison trucks. He also requested the National Police Director to assign at least two vehicles to the Cambita Garabitos municipality.

The plan was presented in the Governor’s office of the San Cristóbal province, and the mayor of San Cristóbal, José Montás, expressed gratitude for the government’s efforts to combat crime in the province.
