The Dutch Caribbean Air Navigation Service Provider (DC-ANS) confirmed that the Dominican airline Arajet would continue to operate to Curaçao, Aruba, and St. Maarten as usual.
Arajet also confirmed the information and explained that the conjectures published in some media regarding a possible suspension were due to a miscommunication between the regulatory entity and the airline, which has been fully corrected.
Arajet explained that it has been paying the DC-ANS overflight fees in advance and smoothly since its start of operations in September 2022. However, an additional charge for airport approach fees was billed separately and not debited from the prepaid account, and notification of the additional cost was never received by the airline through the proper channels, which is the cause of the miscommunication that led to this now overcoming the situation.
Arajet’s team took corrective measures in its communication channel to prevent similar situations from happening in the future, according to a press release.
Arajet reiterated its commitment to creating an air hub in the Dominican Republic that connects North, Central, and South America and the Caribbean. It is a priority always to be aligned and in compliance with all regulatory authorities of the countries in which it operates.
