Weather: Showers with thunderstorms for today Sunday in the Dominican Republic

The National Meteorological Office (Onamet) reported today that the weather for today Sunday over part of the national territory will be affected by downpours with thunderstorms and occasional wind gusts.

The meteorological agency said that this condition will be present mostly towards the provinces of Monte Plata, San Pedro de Macorís, El Gran Santo Domingo (especially towards the northern part), San Cristóbal, Monseñor Nouel, La Vega, San Juan, Elías Piña and Santiago Rodríguez, especially during the afternoon hours, since the trough would be directly affecting the country.

However, the Onamet said that temperatures will be hot during the day as a result of the warm wind from the east and the time of the year.

Meanwhile, in the evening and early morning hours will become cool and pleasant due to a change in the wind direction, being from the northeast.

Drought
The governmental entity recommended the population to economize on water, due to the fact that we continue in the seasonal drought period, which, statistically, extends until mid-April.

Conditions
National District: Mostly sunny skies with slight cloud increases and isolated showers.

Santo Domingo East: Mostly sunny skies with slight cloud increases and isolated showers.

Santo Domingo North: Mostly sunny skies with slight cloud increases and isolated showers.

West Santo Domingo: Mostly sunny skies with slight cloud increases and isolated showers.

Greater Santo Domingo: Maximum temperatures between 30°C and 32°C and minimum between 21°C and 23 °C.
