59% of Dominicans would emigrate to another country if given the opportunity, according to a survey

Santo Domingo.- A recent survey conducted by Asisa, a research firm, revealed that 51% of Dominicans would migrate to another country if they had the opportunity. This high percentage suggests that there is a significant level of despair and a lack of opportunities for many citizens in the country. This alarming statistic indicates a significant decrease in hope for the future.

The survey also indicated that 57% of Dominicans consider that the country is heading in the wrong direction, while only 41.3% feel that it is on the right path. This negative perception of the current situation in the country is likely contributing to the high percentage of citizens who would prefer to migrate to another country.

The cost of products and services was identified as the main problem in the country by 66% of respondents, followed by insecurity and crime (42%) and unemployment/low wages (33%). These results highlight the significant economic challenges that many citizens are facing, including the high cost of living and limited job opportunities with low wages.

The survey also revealed that 64% of citizens do not feel safe when going out. This high level of insecurity is likely contributing to the negative perception of the current situation in the country and maybe a significant factor in the high percentage of citizens who would like to migrate to another country if given the opportunity.
