Customs obtains international certification of the ISO-37001 anti-bribery standard

Santo Domingo.- The General Directorate of Customs (DGA) has been awarded the ISO-37001 Anti-Bribery Management System certification, an internationally recognized standard for preventing, detecting, and mitigating the risk of bribery and corruption. The certification was granted by QSI International System, an accredited certifying company for ISO international standards.

During the formal presentation of the certification, the certifying body acknowledged that the DGA has implemented robust processes, procedures, and policies to combat bribery and corruption effectively.

“We are here to celebrate a significant achievement, the delivery of the ISO 37001 2016 certificate. The process has been rigorous and exhaustive, our team of auditors thoroughly evaluated the anti-bribery management system and determined its compliance with the audit criteria. By obtaining this certification, the General Directorate of Customs demonstrates its commitment and continuous effort to maintain ethical and integrity standards in its activities,” stated Celeste Acosta, representative of the certifying company.

Acosta also highlighted that the DGA’s certification sets it as a model for other institutions and companies, both in the public and private sectors, to follow. It enhances the institution’s reputation and instills trust in its operations.

The Director General of Customs, Eduardo Sanz Lovatón, emphasized that achieving this certification is the result of the unwavering work carried out by the management team to strengthen transparency in processes and operations within the institution.

“The management of State resources is an activity that requires constant vigilance and discipline, as this anti-bribery regulation demands the necessary ethical and integral work from all our staff,” added Sanz Lovatón.
