Famous Dominican inmate’s lawyer doesn’t visit her, official says

SANTO DOMINGO. – The Prosecutor of San Cristobal’s Appellate Court today denied that Sobeida Felix’s lawyer is prevented from visiting her in the jail at Najayo.

Jesus Fernandez Vélez said that the solitary confinement penalty imposed against the Puerto Rican murder convict Jose Figueroa Agosto’s paramour for sneaking a cell phone into her cell expired yesterday, January 24. “She had the visits restricted, but not those of her lawyer.”

He said her lawyer Felix Portes hasn’t visited her since December 22.

“If he wants he can go see her, but what he wants is to stage a show in the media,” the official said.
