Crime prevention gets boost as 1,500 military join Police

Santo Domingo. – 1,500 members of the Armed Forces were transferred to the Police to bolster crime prevention across the country, during a Tuesday noon ceremony headed by Armed Forces minister Joaquin V. Perez and Police chief Jose A. Polanco.

In addition to the integration the government said it would announce other actions to reinforce citizen security.

The measure, carried out in the Camp Duarte of the Riot Police, came on instructions by president Leonel Fernandez, who in several occasions has stated the importance of crime prevention.
