Senator charges senior official with plotting to kill her

Santo Domingo.- Dajabon province senator Sonia Mateo on Wednesday charges dams and canals agency (Indhri) director Olgo Fernández of plotting to kill her, in an accusation filed with the Justice Ministry.

The legislator’s charges, filed accompanied by her lawyer Carlos Balcácer, also names Ramón Orlando Álvarez (Chamboa), Kilderes Taveras, one of Fernández’s drivers, as well as three others, allegedly from the city of San Francisco de Macorís.

According to the lawmaker’s complaint, Fernandez had orchestrated the criminal plan at his farm.

Mateo said a brother and her mother were already attacked by the accused and that she had denounced the case before authorities in Dajabón.
