Drug plane crash leads to major shakeup in Antinarcotics

Santo Domingo.- The head of Antinarcotics (DNCD) “rocked the boat” ? on Tuesday, announcing changes and removals within its echelons, including a new director of the Joint Information and Coordination Center (CICC), which is the agency’s second in command.

Rolando Rosado named in Brigadier general Valentin Rosado Vicioso as head of the CICC, a designation authorized by president Danilo Medina, which also relieved Manuel Rodriguez Miranda from that post, and was sent to the Internal Affairs Dept.

Rosado also announced a new director of operations, an Inspector General and division chiefs at Exports, Research, of the Central, North, Northeast, South, and South Central.

The official also made changes in Special Investigations and Executive offices, and the in the airports of Las Americas, Santiago, Puerto Plata, Punta Cana, La Romana and Higüero.

The announcement comes just hours after the DNCD revealed the names in a major bust, in the heels of two deaths in a crash of a twin engine plane in the Central Mountains, said to be used for narcotics trafficking.
