Legal Adviser asks judges to expedite Bahia de Las Aguilas case

Santo Domingo.- Executive Branch Legal adviser Cesar Pina on Monday urged the judges in charge of the Bahia de Las Aguilas land fraud case that president Danilo Medina’s attitude should serve as an example for them to expedite the process.

"The judicial authorities should be motivated and encouraged and solve this case," the official said, in reference to the fraudulent titles issued for the more than seven kilometers of pristine beach, east of Pedernales (southwest).

Speaking on Telesistema, channel 11, Pina affirmed that the tourism projects planned for Pedernales will be “life changing for the entire South.”

Pina said although Medina made an effort to raise public awareness about the projects, he decided to await the ruling from the courts, adding that that they include developments without harming the environment.
