Three Haitian men, woman arrested in death of American in Puerto Plata

Santo Domingo.- The National Police on Wednesday announced the arrest of three Haitian men and one woman in connection with the death of Italian-American, Raphaelle Foria, 67, on Monday in a tourism project in Sosúa, Puerto Plata (north).

Police spokesman Diego Pesqueira said the detainees Benni Ulysses, Aniel Chery and Jonny Puerd also injured Air Force lieutenant Starlin Leon and Daniel Alvarado, who accompanied Foria. “Also arrested was a woman who was taking food to the detainees and kept them informed on the steps being taken by the National Police, she is also Haitian."

He said there’re two suspects in the crime still on the loose. "They fled to Haiti and have been identified only as Niquelson and Bentony."

Pesqueira added that some of property stolen from Fioria has been recovered, such as a laptop and cell phones.
