Santo Domingo.- The Navy Chief of Staff on Thursday affirmed that during his tenure not one boat has made it to Puerto Rico with boatpeople and more than 300 people have been arrested trying to make the crossing.
Vice admiral Edwin Dominici said around 30 boats have been intercepted at sea attempting to travel to the neighboring island, and others were seized on land, with some 15 trip organizers and captains having been brought to justice.
The official, designated in the post in August, said there’s constant vigilance at all coasts.
