Landslide blocks the Southern highway near Azua

Santo Domingo. – A landslide on the Bani-Azua span of the southern highway known as El Numero has halted traffic leading to and from the capital, with delays of hours.

Public Works Minister Gonzalo Castillo Tuesday night said crews were sebt to the area to clean the debris and restore traffic.

He said motorists should take the detour set up to drive to the town Palmar de Ocoa, from where they can return to the Southern highway heading to Bani from the west, or Azua from the east.
