Mostly clear skies, small craft warning for Atlantic coast

SANTO DOMINGO. – A high system pressure over the North Atlantic dominates the country’s weather conditions, while a northeast wind contributes humidity and widely scattered showers.

The National Meteorology Office (ONAMET) forecasts showers for Wednesday afternoon and night, more frequent in the north, northeast, southeast and Central Mountains. It said a low pressure system over north and the Lesser Antilles moves west, bringing seasonably mild temperatures at night.

ONAMET also advises small craft to remain in port along the Atlantic Coast, since the high pressure system is causing higher than normal winds and waves.
