Ex Senator’s son in 140K cocaine bust surrenders (Update)

Santo Domingo.- The National Drugs Control Agency (DNCD) on Wednesday announced that Martin Noe Sterling Villalón, wanted on a drug bust on Tuesday of more than 140 kilos of cocaine, surrendered to authorities.

DNCE spokesman Roberto Lebron provided the information on his Twitter account, less than 24 hours after the raid of a home in the beach resort Guayacanes (east).

The official said Sterling Villalón owns the142 kilos of cocaine seized in the beach house property of his father Noe Sterling Vasquez, ex senator from Barahona province and Chief of Staff to the late president, Joaquin Balaguer.

Sterling Villalon was also arrested but later released in the case of the 2008 execution of seven Colombians in Paya, Bani.

Lebron added that the house was used as a warehouse to store drugs, “and because it is on the water, we suspect it was smuggled from the sea.”
