132Ks of cocaine is second major drug bust this year

SANTO DOMINGO. – The National Drugs Control Agency (DNCD) Thursday announced the second major drug bust in just four days into the new year, with 130 packages of cocaine seized yesterday afternoon in the town La Cuchilla, Villa Altagracia (central), during a raid in which it affirms no arrests were made.

The drug weighing around 132 kilos was taken to the site in a small container placed on a Daihatsu truck, plate L166418, and left in the house of a man known as Ruddy Moreta and/or Kelvin Moreta.

DNCD president Rolando Rosado said the main suspects have been identified, adding that the truck with the drug was left abandoned in the yard of the house, located in the sector known as La Pineda.

On Monday the antinarcotics agency seized around 75 kilos of cocaine in the marina at the resort Cap Cana, Higüey (east) where it arrested three men, the first major bust of the new year.
