SANTO DOMINGO.- One of the country’s most senior Catholic bishops on Friday slammed the government officials who when named to a political post believe that it’s their property.
Monsignor Francisco Jose Arnaiz, during a mass to mark Day of the Judicial Branch, said when designated in a Ministry, government officials feel that "they’ve been given an absolute title of property by the Mother Country and a privateer’s charter."
He urged officials to contain their ambitions of power, limiting the scope of their action, have the virtues he calls uncommon and sufficient honor to establish their limitations
Arnaiz also urged the judges to guarantee a quick, wholesome true access to justice.
Among the personalities who attended the mass were Justice minister Radhamés Jiménez and Supreme Court president Jorge Subero.
